Page At a glance The Local Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives is an upazila level office of the cooperative department under the Department of Rural Development and Cooperatives. The total number of cooperatives registered in Puthia Upazila under this office is 12. There are about 20 members in these cooperatives registered. The share capital of these cooperatives, registered as per the statistics of the financial year 2009-10, is Tk 1.3 lakh, savings of Taka 1.22 lakh and working capital Tk. Through the cooperative, 6 people have been employed in this district. From these registered cooperatives, revenue of Tk 1.5 lakh has been collected for the audit fees for the financial year from 6-8. Besides, Tk 1.5 lakh has been collected in the cooperative development fund for funding the training programs of the cooperatives. During the last financial year, 4 people from all the upazilas have been provided travel. By receiving training, cooperatives have been involved in income generating work and success is increasing.
